SUTENT dosing

It’s important to remember to take SUTENT as directed by your doctor. Do not change your dose or stop taking SUTENT without first talking with your doctor.

Your doctor may change how you take SUTENT or tell you to stop taking SUTENT.

The dose of SUTENT that you are prescribed by your doctor depends on whether you have advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST*), or advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET). Below are the recommended dosages for each type of cancer.

SUTENT comes in 12.5 mg, 25 mg, 37.5 mg, and 50 mg capsules. Your dose is taken by mouth once daily, with or without food. Learn about the recommended dosage or dose schedule for each type of cancer.

Advanced RCC Dosing

Recommended dosage for advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC)

If you are prescribed SUTENT to treat advanced RCC you may take 50 mg of SUTENT on a dosing cycle as follows:

  • SUTENT is taken every day for 4 weeks (28 days), then it is stopped for 2 weeks (14 days). This is 1 cycle of treatment
  • This cycle is repeated for as long as your doctor tells you to
GIST Dosing

Recommended dosage for certain patients
with GIST*

If you are prescribed SUTENT to treat gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST*) you may take 50 mg of SUTENT on a dosing cycle as follows:

  • SUTENT is taken every day for 4 weeks (28 days), then it is stopped for
    2 weeks (14 days). This is 1 cycle of treatment
  • This cycle is repeated for as long as your doctor tells you to
pNET Dosing

Recommended dosage for advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET)

If you are prescribed SUTENT to treat advanced pancreatic NET, you may take 37.5 mg of SUTENT continuously, without a scheduled off-treatment period.

  • SUTENT is taken every day
  • SUTENT is taken for as long as your doctor tells you to
