SUTENT is used to treat people with a type of pancreatic cancer known as pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET), that has progressed and cannot be treated with surgery.
Learn about pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs)
Pancreatic NET is different from pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic NET is an uncommon
tumor that starts in the hormone-producing cells of the pancreas. The pancreas is
a small gland located near the stomach.
There are two types of pancreatic NET: functional (overproduce hormones) or nonfunctional
(do not overproduce hormones).
Pancreatic NET can often grow slowly.
