SUTENT is used to treat GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor). This is a rare cancer of the stomach, bowel, or esophagus. SUTENT is used when the medicine Gleevec® (imatinib mesylate) did not stop the cancer from growing or when you cannot take Gleevec.
Gleevec is a registered trademark of Novartis AG.

Managing your treatment for GIST can be a challenge. There are treatment schedules
to track. Appointments to keep. Questions to ask the doctor. With so much going
on, you may have a lot on your mind. The tools in this section can help you with
these tasks. And you don't have to do it alone. The people who care about you can
help. That's where the SUTENT
® Treatment Partners Program comes in.
Here's how the program works.
Step 1: Invite someone to be your Treatment Partner.
Your Treatment Partner can be a caregiver, loved one, or friend. You can send the
invitation by e-mail from this site.
Step 2: Use the tools in this section and share them with your Treatment Partner.
These tools can help you create your own treatment schedule, side effect tracker,
questions for your doctor, and more. Then, you can share them with your Treatment
Partner.
Step 3: Your Treatment Partner uses the caregiver tools on this site to help you.
There's a section on this site just for caregivers. It has tools your Treatment
Partner can use to help you manage your treatment.
